Committed to Community, Dedicated to Progress: Vote November 4th

I am proud to officially announce my candidacy for the Muskegon Board of Education. As a lifelong resident of Muskegon, I have tremendous passion and love for the area and its people.  I have been an avid Big Red Football fan for as long as I can remember. I now want to take my passion from the field to every nook and cranny of this district. Due to declining revenues in our public school systems, this district, along with others across the state, has its problems. We will overcome these issues, and together we can emerge as a stronger, more improved school district. One dedicated to a cutting edge education that will prepare our students for the wide array of today’s careers.

Not long ago, I sat in the classroom as a student. This fresh perspective is something the current board lacks, and is something that would benefit the students of this district. I am a strong believer of having every voice represented in our community, and believe my new voice would be advantageous to the district.  I am not far removed from the daily lives of those being educated in the district, and will continue to stay in close contact with the students and staff of our beloved district.

The public education system is the bedrock of a strong community. It is the foundation that allows for neighborhoods to thrive and for our economy to boom. We must once again work to strengthen our schools and create a platform for schools to succeed and prosper.

After years of continued cuts and reductions, it is time someone is willing and ready to stand up   for the students, staff and teachers of this district. It is time to go toe-to-toe with Lansing legislators to restore funding to our schools and undo decades of revenue decline. With your help, I believe I can be that person.

Earl Morrall, a 1952 graduate of Muskegon High School and NFL quarterback, once said, “The difference between good and great, is often just to do a little bit more.” It is time to do a little bit more – more to make Muskegon great on the field, but most importantly, great in the classroom.

It’s time to tackle the tough problems and defend our moral right to public education.

Committed to community. Dedicated to progress.
Vote William Snyder for Muskegon Board of Education on Nov. 4th
This is a NON-PARTISAN race. If you vote “straight ticket” you still must vote separately for School Board.
