William Snyder is a lifelong resident of the City of
Muskegon. William has long been dedicated to community activism in the Greater
Muskegon area. Will is a parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in
North Muskegon and heavily involved in the Knights of Columbus Dan M. Kennedy
council #706, where he currently serves as Building Association President.
Previously he served as Vice President and Board Trustee where he helped the
club avert financial crisis and the closing of its doors. During His time on
the board he has helped implement over $112,000 of building improvements.
William is a member of the UFCW local 951 and is employed by Meijer where he
serves as a union steward. Will has found a passion for and protecting workers’
rights ensuring average people have a voice in the workplace. He also serves as Safety Committee Chair at
Meijer and helped his unit become first in the company going over 3 years
without a lost time injury. In 2013, William at age 20 became the youngest
known candidate in a local election when he unsuccessfully ran for Muskegon
City Commissioner in a crowded primary field. Will has managed or chaired many
political campaigns in the Muskegon area ranging from small grassroots school
board and city council races like his own, to complex judicial elections, and
targeted state legislative campaigns. He is the former Vice Chair of the
Muskegon County Young Dems, and a Precinct Delegate. He has been a longtime
supporter of the Muskegon Area Relay for Life – where he was a former board
member. A graduate of Mona Shores High School, he also helped establish the
Mona Shores Adopt-A-Family program, now in its 7th year, which provides
underprivileged families in the Muskegon area a full Christmas.About William
